Farm Progress America, April 26, 2022

Max Armstrong reports on a new wrinkle in the global vegetable oil supply – a reduction in palm oil.

Max Armstrong points to another crisis caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict – a vegetable oil crisis. What started as a sunflower oil shortage due to the war, has extended to palm oil. The president of Indonesia has decided to limit exports of palm oil, which is a key vegetable oil. Indonesia supplies about 60% of the palm oil sold globally. Max shares details of how palm oil is raised.

Max Armstrong’s Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
