<p>On August 26, Wegmans hosted a delegation of FMI staff led by President and CEO Leslie G. Sarasin as well as U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials including Deputy Commissioner for Human Foods Kyle Diamantas at the company’s Richmond, Va., distribution center. Through a tour of the facility, the Wegmans team was able to demonstrate to regulatory officials the complexity of the food supply chain and discuss the significant challenges the food industry faces in implementing FDA’s Food Traceability Rule.
