The Seam Appoints New Platform Manager, Increases Peanut Industry Footprint

The Seam’s farmer-stock platform, originally launched in 2016, is now servicing eight shelling organizations, three of which were onboarded in 2021. The web-based platform provides document digitization, real-time data for decision making, and embedded integrations with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Georgia Federal-State Inspection Service and EWR, among other organizations. This, coupled with the recent launch of the American Peanut Council’s Sustainable U.S. Peanuts Platform, also powered by The Seam, has led to further expansion of the company’s personnel and resource investments.

“The Seam is hyper focused on advancing agriculture through technology and innovation, and we are driven to deliver those traits to a wider segment of the peanut industry,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark Pryor. “Rex will play a vital role in The Seam’s accelerated growth in this area, enabling our team to provide an advanced level of support to our increasing customer base, while orchestrating the roadmap and delivery of new peanut software services.”

Vandiver joined The Seam in 2017 in customer development. In his new role, he will manage all peanut initiatives for the company, including USDA Commodity Loan Management, Farmer-Stock Management and the Sustainable U.S. Peanuts Platform. Additionally, development is underway for a new medium that will encompass sales management, inventory, logistics and shelled goods.
